Purity Factories Ltd.
For my Intro to Graphic Design class during my second year, we were tasked with redesigning a single label of a jarred or bottled product. Instead of one, I decided to redesign a series of five labels from Purity Factories Ltd. The company originates from Newfoundland, and is over a century old.
The set of products I chose was from their flavoured syrup line. I love creating connections with designs, so in lieu of the companies roots, I decided to combine the flavour of each syrup with a geographical location in Newfoundland whose colour scheme matched that of the bottle. Strawberry was paired with Cape Spear, orange was paired with the Tablelands, lime was paired with Humber Valley, blue raspberry was paired with Twillingate, and fruit punch was paired with St. John's.
A year later, I had the opportunity to pitch the company my ideas with the help of my professor. Although they did not take the designs, this was still a win in the long-run because of what I learned, and the experience I gained.
In addition to the label designs, I have also attached posters that I made for our final class assignment, that were then adapted for the design pitch surrounding the company's 100th anniversary.
